This video tells the story of Gisborne forestry worker Wade Brunt who saw his fitness drop and his weight rise when he moved from operating a chainsaw to become a machine operator. Wade tells how he went about turning around both his physical and mental health. He then went on to set up ‘health camps’ to help other forestry workers improve their wellbeing. Wade has since taken up a role as a Safetree ‘Toroawhi’ in the Tairāwhiti area, where he’s helping improve worker engagement in health and safety.
