As many of you will understand these decisions are not easy to make but
collectively, we confirm that FISC & FICA have decided to postpone the
Safetree Conference until later this year, in light of COVID-19 pandemic and
focus on public events.
We will honour all tickets purchased for the March conference for the new
dates.
We regret any inconvenience this might cause you. However, we are sure you will appreciate that we want to support efforts to contain the virus and
protect New Zealanders and to lead by example.
The Government has announced that events involving more than 500 people will not go ahead and has said it will make an announcement on smaller events later this week. Our event will be less than 500 people. But given the uncertainty of what will be in the next announcement, and the fact that the need for social distancing will undermine the main purpose of the conference – which is to allow people to connect – we have made a pro-active decision to postpone.
While this postponement is disappointing, we are hopeful that the event can be run later this year and will keep you informed about the new date as we make alternative arrangements.
Take care and keep updated using the Ministry of Health website.
