Workers Memorial Day – Safety Team Talk

We would like to encourage everyone to pay respects to the people who’ve died in our industry at Team Safety Talks on Thursday.

Thursday 28th April is Workers Memorial Day – when around the world people remember those killed on the job. It’s a day to remember the 4 forestry workers who died this year in New Zealand – and the 23 who died in the previous 5 years.

Thursday’s a chance to draw attention to the big risks in our industry – the activities that kill people. And to remind ourselves of the controls we’ve got in place to stop that happening.

It’s a day for talking to the team about what’s going well and what people are concerned about. This could be at a regular pre-start crew meeting or team meeting, or a special meeting to mark the day.
